Things You’ll Need:
Full Immersion Dripper
#4 Paper Filter
Glass Carafe, Decanter or Tea Pot
Scale*
Grinder (We Can Pre-Grind your Orders)
Kettle
*20g Big Black Coffee
Filtered Water (~450g)
Timer
How to Brew:
Grind: Medium-Fine
Time: 3 Minutes
Fill Kettle with enough Filtered Water to brew and rinse Paper Filter & bring the water to ~205˚F (Just Off Boil).
Weight out 20g of Big Black Coffee & Grind MEDIUM-FINE following the instructions of your Grinder.
Place Full Immersion Dripper on your Glass Carafe/Tea Pot and place the set on top of your Scale.
Slightly fold over the creased portion of the #4 Paper Filter and Insert the Filter into the Full Immersion Dripper. Pre-wet the Paper Filter to remove and paper taste & discard the rinse water.
Add the Ground Coffee to your Filter, tapping to make sure all of the coffee grounds are sitting flat. Tare the Scale to Zero. Make sure the lever is closed on the dripper.
Set the Timer to 3 minutes.When ready, start the Timer and slow pour 340g of water in a circular motion while making sure all of the coffee grounds are wet. Place the lid on top of the dripper to prevent heat loss.
After 3 minutes, open the lever on the dripper and let the coffee drain into your mug, carafe, or tea pot.
Enjoy your Big Black Coffee.
Pro Tip:
Experiment with longer steeps for more sweetness (up to 4 min).
