Weight out 21g of Big Black Coffee & Grind MEDIUM-FINE following the instructions of your Grinder.
Assemble the Plunger and Chamber portions of the Aeropress with the Chamber facing up.
This is known as the Inverted Method. Place the Filter in the Cap.
Place the Aeropress on your Scale.Pour a small amount of Heated Water into the Aeropress to Pre-Heat.
*(If you’re using a Paper Filter, rinse it over your mug to remove any paper taste and discard the rinse water).Add the Ground Coffee to your Aeropress, tapping to make sure all of the coffee grounds are sitting flat. Tare the Scale to Zero. Set the Timer to 2:30 minutes.
When ready, start the Timer and fully saturate the grounds by pouring ~190g of water along the sides of the chamber and giving it a gentle stir.
After 2:30 minutes have passed, stir the coffee to generate a circular motion. Lock in the Cap with the Filter and FLIP the Aeropress over and onto your Mug.
Gently press down on the Plunger until you hear a hiss of air. Give the Aeropress a moment to allow the coffee to stop dripping.
Enjoy your Big Black Coffee.
Pro Tip:
The brew can be diluted down to taste. Try cooler water (185°F) for a sweeter, less bitter brew.
